A Marquis of Pombal Square in Aveiro, is important square, located in center this city, where some of the most important organisms for people's lives like the Court, being the seat of the district of Aveiro, Public Security Police (PSP) station, headquartered in the building of the former Civil Government, the CTT and finally the Carmelite Church.

After implementation of the RepublicOn 1910, this local It was named after the man who was considered one of the key figures in the reforms that Portugal underwent in the 18th century, Sebastian Joseph of Carvalho and Melo, known as Marquis of Pombal.
